The Death Bringer Catapult!

The Death Bringer is a terrific mid-sized catapult made by Zac and Anton for a school project.

There are a few options you have when making the energy storage and release for a catapult. you can use surgical tubing or you can use bungee cords.

The team came up with an ingenious way to use rubber bands. They made a string of 5 rubber bands. Then created 20 of those. And wound them all together.

Pretty neat solution!

This Catapult: launches a 500 gram (1 pound in US terms) 20.5 metres (67 feet in US terms) almost took out the neighbours rear car window, must now more to the local park for further testing Currently using 20 strings of 5 rubber bands looped together.

And they used a very unique idea to get their catapult to throw even further - A dog ball thrower! Just like this one:

Catapult Kit

Lay Siege To The Doghouse! Right after you build your own working medieval catapult. All you'll need is glue, scissors and a steady hand to construct this wooden, Canadian-made siege engine kit. The finished catapult stands 6" tall x 5" wide x 10" long and will toss assorted stuff (meatballs?) 15 feet or further, depending upon the stuff. Comes with detailed instructions. Note: Please don't propel small mammals, and please don't put anyone's eye out. Catapult Kit
