GrayEagles Dogfight Diorama
|
|
This is a fantastic diorama of an aerial dogfight. There are at least a dozen planes in this diorama and it takes place over a desert. This diorama was made by Marshall. My thanks to him for submitting these pictures and you can see more of his dioramas right here: Marshall's Dioramas
This diorama is a visualization from a novel called "Gray Eagles" by Duane Unkefer.
And Marshall, the builder of this diorama, is ex military and a Captain and pilot in the Civil Air Patrol.
Here are a few of the details the Captain has to say about this diorama:
The Mustangs are not all silver, the planes do not have the personal markings described in GE, and they are identical. Could not find swastikas for the tail sections of the 109's in the correct scale, but hope the Luftwaffe pilot/observer badge on the title plaque will cover that. |
Gray Eagles
This is the book that this diorama is based on.
A little bit about the planes and the burned out VW bus:
The airplanes are BF 109's commonly known as ME 109's, P-51 Mustangs, and one British Spitfire. And there is a picture of what happens to a VW bus when straffed by BF 109's LOL.
