Khian's Diorama

Here is a military diorama made by Khian. It is quite amazing! He tells us a bit about how he made it.

My thanks go to Khian for sharing this terrific project with us!

Hi Will! Im Khian. 13 and from the Philippines. I've been visiting your website since i was 9. Id like to show you my diorama. Its in 1/35 scale and from trumpeter. The helmet was from my previous academy kit. The Snow was made from baby powder. The Tank is a KV-1 1942 model. The base is wood and the groundwork is tile grout with some dirt from a local store. Id like to call this one "Operation Jupiter" because this really depicts the soviet offensive itself! Il send you more pics when its done.. Thanks!

I made the diorama using tile grout. When the grout is almost dry put some groundwork on it. (Cat Litter, Stones, Dirt etc.) After doing the groundwork I sprayed some glue diluted in water and added tufts and static grass. For the tree, I cut some bush branches and applied some putty to make it fatter. the snow is just baby powder. The tent is made out of some cloth and thread. I made the vodka from stretched out and sanded sprue. I created The frozen corpse using an old kit from lindberg , putty and blue tack. The plate is also from my previous academy kit too and the food is colored blutack.

Tank 1942 heavy armor turret 1/35 Soviet KV-1 heavy (japan import)

The Kliment Voroshilov (KV) tanks were a series of Soviet Red Army heavy tanks, named after the Soviet defense commissar and politician Kliment Voroshilov. The KV series were known for their extremely heavy armour protection during the early part of World War II, especially during the first year of the invasion of the Soviet Union.
