Pt 109 Part 3 - The parts on the deck

In this part of the tutorial we add the various parts, including the figures, guns and more, to the top deck of the boat.

Next we cement on the top deck. It is pretty easy to do and I am using some rubber bands to hold it in place while the cement sets. This is a neat tip for cementing. You can also use alligator clips and clothespins to hold pieces together while the cement sets.

Paint the deck

Before I add all the various parts I painted the deck.

Add parts to the deck

Next we add the various parts to the deck.

You have the option of painting them first. Or particularly you can paint the parts that are going to be in difficult to reach spots.

Paint the parts

Once all the parts are attached did the final painting of the boat. This includes the various parts and the miniature figures.

Apply the decals

Next I applied the various decals. The instructions show where to put them. Decal application is an easy process. They aren't stickers. What you do is cut each one off the sheet then soak it in water for about 30 seconds to loosen it. Then you slide it off the paper and onto the model just like you see in the picture here.

Add string

And we finish off the model by adding black thread as railings.

A model submarine

Make a Model Submarine

This is a wonderful little plastic model kit. I chose this one because it has the open side so you can see all the various stuff inside the sub. Fun skill level 4 which means it is a challenging build and I also have a video. Make a Model Submarine
