The Harbour Diorama

In this tutorial Frank shows us a brilliant new way to make water in a diorama.

Frank is a regular contributor to my website. He has made a whole lot of amazing dioramas and you can check them all out right here: Frank's Dioramas

This is a big diorama! It is 27" x 12".

Frank tells us about the making of this diorama:

Most of it is foam and loilly sticks. The hay bails are made of balsa wood dipped in glue then rolled in saw dust.

For the water - I used glue first then some serviettes (cloth napkins) on top, then another coat of glue. Then I pushed the paper to make the waves after it dried I painted it. The water is made of one bottle of clear gel glue and a bit of cotton wool for the waves. Had I bought the branded water from M P/WS it would have cost me about $30.

I managed to get a box of German seated non military figures plus a couple from me spares box. This is my biggest thing I have tackled so far.
