Make a Foam Armor Chest Plate 4

In this part of the tutorial we finish off the chest piece by painting it.

Part 1 of this tutorial is here

Rustoleum

Let's Paint it. I am using spray paint. It is Rustoleum Silver Metallic Finish.

Test the paint first

An important note about painting. You should test your paint first. Paint a scrap of the foam to see how it reacts! Some paints work well and some paints not so well. This way you don't ruin your chest plate if the paint isn't suitable!

Paint it

So let's paint it! And apply the paint in layers. First do a light layer. You can see that light layer at the top of the chest piece. Then apply a second and thicker layer. That is what I am doing in this picture here.

Then apply a third and final layer. The reason why you do it in layers is because it will give it a more even and metallic look and it will help preserve the foam without deforming and bubbling.

Detail paint it

Now finish it off with detail painting.

That's it! Your Chest piece is done!!
