How to Make Gandalf the Grey's Staff : Part 4

In this part of the tutorial we finish making the staff. Yay!

Part 1 (the beginning) of this tutorial is here

Add pattern

Now use a pencil to make a wood grain pattern in the staff . The goal isn't to 'draw' the pattern on. The goal is to use the tip of the pencil to create furrows in the foam .

Glue in the crystal

Let's glue it all together. Put the crystal assembly in place, cutting a channel for the wires and switch. And then apply glue to both halves of the staff head. And put glue in the channel for the woodens staff too. We are gluing that in also.

Continue shaping

Tape those two halves together while the glue or hot glue sets. And you can do some trimming here to make it look good on the wooden dowel.

Paint it brown

Let's paint it. This is easy and a two step process. We start by painting the whole thing brown.

Highlight with grey

Then paint highlights and accents with grey paint.

Trim off the end

Once the paint dried I decided I wanted to trim the staff head down and make it smaller. So I did that. I cut away the top part of the foam. The dotted line shows you how it used to be before the cutting. I like it a lot better this way. And you can see more of the crystal from the top now.

There you go! It is lit up and looks great. Be sure to send me a picture of your staff!!!

Make the Saw Cleaver from Bloodborne

The saw cleaver

This is an interesting and fairly easy project you can make with two sheets of foam board and a little paint. I give you the template! And it really works. You can open and close it! Make the Saw Cleaver from Bloodborne.
