A practical guide to earning revenue with your website

You can make a stream of income with a website. You really can. This webpage gives you a host of tools and information on how to do it. This is real advice, tips and tools. There are no false promises here of getting rich quick or how you can make thousands of dollars every month without doing any work.

There are a couple of basic premises here that you have to apply to. Read these over and if you agree with them then you can continue. If you are looking for a way to make lots of easy money then this isn't for you.

1. You want to make money in a "good" way - There is a basic unethical basis to getting rich by telling other people how to get rich. What you want to do is offer something of value to people. This value you give to people will in exchange reward you financially.

2. You are willing to work at it - This isn't about copying somebody elses formula for creating a great sales page, duplicating it and setting up the system so the automatic money rolls in. You will need to continually offer people something of real value. This means work.

3. You are committed to continue improving over time - Freshness is critical. You can't just put up a website and watch the money roll in. You must give it time. You have to experiment, try different things continually make your site and your marketing better. You must always improve the content of your site.

So let's get started:

The first rule (and this rule is unbreakable, If you break this rule then you will fail)

You must offer your web visitor something of value

This is the most important thing. There has to be a solid reason for people to come to your website. Let me give you a couple of examples: This website you are on has some solid content that it offers to visitors. Are you interested in playing classical guitar? I have a tutorial that will help you. There are free tutorials on caring for your guitar, tuning your guitar, stringing your guitar, and much more. Are you interested in making a video game? I have tutorials for this too Make your own video games This section has solid advice and tips on making games and becoming a better game designer.

This is called "content". This website has good content that really gives people something of value. Something that they want. Through this good content you can make an income.

Stumbling already? You might be asking yourself: "What kind of content can I offer? I don't play guitar and I don't have any special skills".

Don't let the doubt monster get you down. You can offer something of value to your web visitor. Remember that what this comes down to is translating your work into a fair income. If you put in the work you will make money.

If you already have a theme, subject or idea for what of value you can offer your web visitor then you can skip to the next section. If you are still searching for something to base your site, and your income on, then read on!

Finding something to offer people that will make you an income

First of all you need to ask yourself some questions. How you frqame these questions is very important. Do not ask yourself these questions : "What can I offer that will make money?" or "How do people make money on the internet?" These are exactly the wrong questions.

Here are the questions you need to ask yourself:

  • What do I enjoy doing?
  • What information do I have that people would be interested in?
  • What hobbies am I passionate about?
  • What do I love to talk about?
  • What do I find interesting?
  • What am I good at?
  • What do I look for when searching the internet?

Make a list

  • Play guitar
  • make model airplanes
  • hunt for bargains
  • yard sales
  • antiques
  • race cars
  • science fiction
  • writing
  • collecting hummels
  • playing football
  • watch movies
  • read books
  • paint in watercolor
  • needlepoint
  • Lord of the Rings

The list can be endless. Now look over your list. Is there something that you are passionate about? Is there something that you already spend hours doing or learning about? Does something in the list jazz you up?

Well guess what? You have found the subject of your website. That's right! Don't say: "How can anybody make money from "Ant farms" or "Porcupine dolls"?

You can. If you are interested in the subject then there are other people interested in it too. And if you are interested you will work at it, you will learn about it, you will get better at it. And these things will mean that you are developing skill and expertise that other people will see as valuable. And that means you will make an income.

And you get the added benefit of learning about and getting better at something you enjoy! What better way is there to make some income?
