This is a picture of the bonsai from seeds that I started. It has now been two months and there is an interesting thing that this picture shows. There are three types of trees here. Each type has two plants. So the first two plants are Tamarind, The second two are Japanese Pagoda, and the two on the far left are Chinese Elm.

The interesting thing is the growth rate of each kind of tree species. You can see that the Tamarind have virtually exploded in growth while the Chinese Elm is still quite small. This reinforces something that I talk a lot about when it comes to caring for bonsai. You have to know the specifics of your type of tree and care for it accordingly. And you have to bonsai it accordingly. Those long fronds on the Tamarind mean this probably should be a bigger bonsai (eventually) and the chinese elm, which is currently my favorite, is going to make a wonderful smaller bonsai because of it's small size and it's much smaller leaves. It will look very realistic in miniature.
