Fantasy Diorama - Tales of The Arabian Knights

A visitor to my website sent me some pictures of two of his dioramas and I really liked them and thought you might enjoy them too. He is a guy from Israel and he really has a good eye for building fantasy dioramas. The first thing that popped into my mind was the Tales of the Arabian Knights. These dioramas have a magical feel much like the stories.

Fantasy Diorama

One of the best, and unique, things about these dioramas is the creative use of materials. There are lots of different materials including clay, small tiles, miniature characters, creatures and a unique background.

Another Fantasy Diorama

I tend to use a lot of manufactured kit materials for my dioramas and the model railroad industry has created a lot of great materials for diorama making but these dioramas are a great display of how you can use an eclectic mix of materialsl from different sources and put them together in ways that are unique, beautiful, and creative.

Things to Learn from These Dioramas

1. You can, with some creative thought, make a wonderful diorama with a wide variety of materials. Come to think about it almost anything small can be used in a diorama.

2. The backdrops of dioramas are very important and they can add a real dramatic flair to the whole scene just like the backdrops in these dioramas.

3. The creative range of scenes you can make is almost endless. I tend to make dioramas of castles and knights and medieval types of things but these dioramas show that there is a whole world of opportunity when it comes to the theme and the scene of a diorama.

A Note about these dioramas

: These pictures were sent to my by a guy from Israel and I thank him for sharing these wonderful works with me, and with you. He is currently working on a couple more dioramas and is going to send me more pictures when he has completed them.
