You probably have heard of re-fried beans. It is a wonderful food and very unique and enjoyable.

But have you ever heard of re-fried corn? Maybe not. Well, it is a specialty in Cape Verdean cooking and it is what I ordered from Sanixa's Cuisine.

And it was delicious! Let me tell you more.

I ordered Cachupa, fried with linguica and eggs.

Cachupa is very much a national Cape Verdean dish and my understanding is that it comes in many variations. What I ordered is re-fried corn with linguica and eggs.

You can get the eggs cooked anyway you like.

The corn is perfectly cooked and there were also some other things in the mix including some lima beans and a smidgen of green that might have been kale or maybe cabbage. It just has a great mild taste.

Give this place a try. It is some good home style cooking.

And, they have picnic tables right there on site which is great. I had my meal right there on a beautiful September afternoon.

I also noticed a lot of people coming in and picking up orders. So, I think they have a robust call in and place an order system.
