This is an interesting hundred year old book now in the public domain. It is a handbook for how to use various weapons including of course the Broadsword and the Single-stick. It also has chapters on Quarter Staff, Bayonet, Cudgel, Shillaleh, Walking Stick and Umbrella.

I don't recommend it as an absolute beginner book. You should have some familiarity with hand weapons so you can get the most out of this book.

It is an interesting little book that is about 100 pages in length. It has a no nonsense approach to using various types of weapons along with plenty of illustrations and diagrams. It is of course free to download in two different formats.
