Make an Inro and Netsuke based on an actual museum piece

An Inro and Netsuke is a clever and unique container to hold things. Think of it as a 17th century purse or wallet - Maybe even the very first fanny pack!

It comes out of Japan. They wore clothing like Kimonos that had no pockets so they needed a way to carry various things like pipes, pencils, coins or anything else. It was worn hung over the belt. Here is a picture:

Wearing an inro and netsuke

There are four parts to it and they are all bound together by a shoelace or cord. The container that holds things is called an Inro. And the counterweight is called the Netsuke.

Netsuke changed and evolved over the years. They often were ornately carved objects such as animals.
