I just came back from a trip to Ireland. I had a lot of goals to accomplish while I was there. Primarily I wanted to see as many of the castles as I could. I did that. Saw lots of castles.

But also on my list of things to do was make a visit to Bunratty Castle. And possibly see the mead making operation which is near the castle.

Well, as things would go I never got the chance to see where Bunratty mead is made! Awww... Kind of a shame. Would have been really neat. But in a local gift shop I did buy this tiny bottle of Mead. Not quite the same.

And on one particular tour we did drive right by Bunratty Castle. Here is a pic I took from the bus:

And on my last day in Ireland I ran across a brochure about a special tour and even that goes on in the Bunratty Castle. They have a medieval feast! And of course as an aperterif the drink is MEAD! Drats. And the brochure said that it is a very popular thing and you have to book it in advance. Think about it. Having a feast in a real medieval castle; feasting on food and washing it all down with a real medieval drink - mead!

Oh Well, Maybe next time.
