In this part of the series we look at more of the building of the stop motion animation in the library.

Let's take a look at the figure in the animation.

I use a 1/6 th scale miniature armature for this project. That means that our figure, is one foot tall, which is equal to a six foot tall person. It makes things easy to calculate. And this size is pretty easy to work with.

the green squares on the mat are one inch in size. So, you can see our figure is 12 inches tall.

About this armature. If you are not familiar with stop motion what we have is called an armature. It has various balls and joints in it so you can move its various parts into any shape and it will stay. For example, you can move the arm a little bit, take a picture, move the arm a little more and take another picture... etc.

This 1/6 scale is the same as GI Joe dolls so I found a GI joe with the right head and arms and have attached them to this armature.

The company I bought this exact armature from is called "Armaverse". But they are out of business. And that is Okay. There are plenty of other companies that make armatures. Here are a few armatures you can buy on Amazon:
