A Selection of Orion telescopes and Products

Orion 10033 FunScope

Orion 10033 FunScope 76mm TableTop Reflector Telescope Moon Kit (Blue)

The Fun Scope is no toy, but it is great for kids and young adults who show an interest in space and astronomy. Fun Scope is a real reflecting telescope with a 76mm (3 inch) diameter polished spherical mirror which allows you to capture 60 percent more light than a typical 60mm beginner's telescope. More light gathered means the Fun Scope will provide views of the cosmos that are brighter and clearer than views in smaller diameter telescopes. What's more, the Fun Scope Moon Kit includes the Orion Moon Map 260 - a detailed map of the Earth's Moon which makes it easy for budding astronomers to find out the official names of the craters and other Moon features they explore using the Fun Scope reflector. You'll get two eyepieces with the Fun Scope: a 20mm eyepiece which gives a 15x view, and a 10mm eyepiece which lets you observe at more powerful, 30x magnification. Every night you use the Fun Scope, start with the 20mm eyepiece to see a wider, less powerful view, then you can boost the magnification by using the 10mm eyepiece to take a closer look. The Fun Scope also includes a very useful red-dot aiming tool called a reflex sight which makes it easy to aim the telescope at objects in the sky. The Fun Scope's tabletop mount arrives pre-assembled in the box so you don't have to worry about assembly. If there isn't a table located where you want to use the pint-sized reflector telescope, the entire Fun Scope assembly can be mounted onto a tripod equipped with a 3/8 inch or ¼ inch-20 threaded post since the Fun Scope features a built-in 3/8 inch tripod adapter and included ¼ inch-20 threaded bushing. (Tripods sold separately.)

Orion 09798 StarBlast 4.5 Equatorial Reflector Telescope

Orion 09798 StarBlast 4.5 Equatorial Reflector Telescope, Metallic Green

Our compact, performance-packed Orion StarBlast 4.5 EQ Reflector telescope is a favorite of both beginners and expert astronomers alike. It combines the much-heralded Orion StarBlast 4.5-Inch wide-field (f/4.0) parabolic reflector optics with our sturdy EQ-1 equatorial tracking mount and adjustable-height tripod. The 4.5-Inch aperture reflector telescope's short focal length serves up a generous chunk of sky in the eyepiece, making it easy for beginners to find celestial objects to study. This tripod-mounted version of the StarBlast 4.5 reflector offers an even more pronounced wide-field viewing experience compared to its tabletop counterpart, as we've upgraded the telescope eyepieces to include two from the Orion Expanse series - a 15mm and 6mm - which have a large 66 degree apparent field of view. Observations of everything from the Moon to Messier objects appear exceptionally sharp and rich in contrast through this petite reflector telescope. The included 15mm Expanse telescope eyepiece provides 30x power magnification, while the 6mm Expanse eyepiece bumps up the power all the way to 75x magnification. The 15mm is a great eyepiece to begin observing sessions with, since it provides a large window of night sky for you to view. Once you've found an object you'd like to inspect more closely, swap out the 15mm Expanse with the 6mm eyepiece and enjoy a significantly more powerful view. An included Orion EZ Finder II reflex sight makes it easy to effectively aim the StarBlast 4.5 Equatorial Reflector Telescope anywhere in the night sky. The EZ Finder II projects a small red-dot onto a viewing window so all you have to do is move the telescope until the red-dot is aimed at the area of sky you wish to view through the telescope. With the EZ Finder II reflex sight, star hopping around the sky is a breeze for anyone in the family!

Orion 8945 SkyQuest XT8 Classic Dobsonian Telescope

Orion 8945 SkyQuest XT8 Classic Dobsonian Telescope

A powerful and capable telescope, the Orion SkyQuest XT8 Classic Dobsonian is one of our most popular reflectors due to its elegant combination of precision optics, mechanical simplicity, and rock-solid stability. You and your whole family will appreciate the bright, clear views of the night sky provided by the XT8 Classic. The Moon and planets of our solar system like Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars shine brightly in the SkyQuest XT8 Classic, allowing you to inspect them in detail. The XT8's 8-inch aperture is also large enough to gather a significant amount of light from more distant celestial objects for great views of sparkling star clusters, cloudy nebulas, and faraway galaxies. The XT8 Classic Dob is a tremendous value considering the high quality views it provides on such a wide variety of celestial objects. The point-and-view simplicity of the Dobsonian design is not as complicated as an equatorial (EQ) mount and tripod, so with a little practice, your whole family can scan the heavens just like experienced hobbyists. For any astronomer seeking serious adventure, the XT8 Classic Dob has it all!
