In this part of the tutorial we finish off the making of the sword by painting it and adding the elvish writing to it. |
The painting scheme for this sword is pretty simple. You paint the handle black and the pommel and guard silver about like you see here. Then you take apart the blade section and paint all of that silver. Even paint the inner tang sections. That will make it a snugger fit.
Now finish up the painting with some gold detail. Paint inside those four diamonds you cut out and paint a gold band where the black handle meets the silver pommel. Now let's add the inscription. Assemble the sword together, cut out the three strips of inscription and glue them to the center line of the sword. Then cut them at the joint lines. They are labeled 1,2 and 3 on the template so you can keep them in order. And that's it! Your sword is done. You can put it together or freely take it apart whenever you like.
Make the Witch King Helmet This is an easy paper mache or plaster cloth project. And I give you the template. Now you can be the witch king. If being the bad guy is what you want! Make the Witch King Helmet
Make a Ballista It's an ancient Roman and Greek siege engine and you can make one out of foamboard. I have the template for you. Cut out the pieces, trace onto foamboard and put it together. Make a Ballista
Make the Glass Sword from Skyrim The glass dagger turned out to be so popular that I had to go ahead and make the sword. Fun project and it comes out great. Actually quite impressive. You don't see projects like this very often! Make the Glass Sword from Skyrim
