Now let's Make the strips of cloth to wrap it with

Layout an old white tshirt flat. And cut it like this. Each strip is around 2 inches wide. And you cut from one side of the tshirt but you dont cut all the way to the other side. Cut just as the red lines show.

Okay! The strips look good!

Lay it out like this so you can see that center section that didn't get cut. And we are now going to cut those strips like you see in the picture. Diagonally across them. Always cut from one to the next one over as the red lines show. This gives you a continuous strip of cloth. Very nice!!

This is optional but if you want to stain the tshirt so it looks old and tattered you can brew a cup of tea nice and strong and soak the tshirt in it for a few minutes.

This is how to wrap it. Wrap the handle of the blade. Then wrap the arms each in three different places.

Now you can put it in the open or the closed position and pin it.

And you can put the blade in place and pin it. Or remove the pin and hold the blade.

And that's it! You are done. Here is a picture of it in the open position and a pic of it in the closed position.
