Make the Mirkwood Double Bladed Polearm - Part 3

In this part of the tutorial we finish making the polearm and we paint it.

Part 1 of this tutorial is here

Wrap tape

Now wrap masking tape around that seam between the blade and the pole. Give it a nice conical shape like this. It will look good and it will make it stronger.

Add a spiral detail

Now run a spiral of glue around the tape like this. Do about three turns around the pole.

paint tape black

Once the hot glue dries paint the tape and glue black to match the rest of the polearm.

Paint blade gold

Paint the blades gold. Almost done!!!

Dab random spots of green

Now to make it more Mirkwood dab on random spots of light green along the handle.

Add some brown

Let's add one more detail Mix a little brown or white to your gold paint and add a nice clean bevel to the rounded edge of the blades.

That's it! Your Mirkwood Polearm is done! Congratulations!!!
