A Christmas Diorama of the Holy Land
Here are some pictures of two wonderful dioramas submitted by a web visitor (Juanamie P.) My thanks to her for these terrific pictures and the beautiful dioramas. They are of the holy land. Fitting for the Christmas season. There are some really beautiful things about these dioramas. First is the backdrop. This has a painted backdrop and it is something that a lot of diorama makers tend to forget but a backdrop can make a big difference in a diorama. Second is the variety of terrain. When making a diorama it is typical to have it all on one level or one surface. This diorama has a terrific variety of terrain with some of the levels higher than others. It makes for a very interesting looking scene. Thirdly, I always talk about having a theme for your diorama. This one has a wonderful religious theme. Thanks for the great diorama Juanamie!
The first two pictures are extraordinary. This is of another Holy Land diorama that she has made and this one is simply spectacular. The first picture shows it in normal light but the second picture is quite beautifully dramatic because of the use of lighting. It is a tremendously well done diorama and a great look at how lighting can have a profound effect.
