Make a Game of Thrones Diorama
Part 3: Painting the buildings

In this part of the tutorial we finish off the buildings by painting them and adding any final details.

Part 1 (the beginning) of this tutorial is here including the video

The buildings

Ok! The buildings and towers are all made. Now we need to paint them up.

paint the buildings black

Start by painting the buildings black. Then wash over them with a light coat of gray to get them to a nice base color.

Dry brushing the building

Next we dry brush on a light coat of white mixed with a bit of gray. Dry brushing is where you put paint on the brush then dab most of it off. Then you lightly brush over the object. This gives it a partial coat of the color and gets the high portions but leaves a lot of the low portions the original color.

Some more details

If you cut out the windows like we did you can paint the insides of them black. And, on the round towers you can optionally paint those roofs red.

And that's it! Your buildings are done!

NextLet's continue on with the tutorial and make the actual landscape of the diorama
