Crossroads Mead

I have a friend in the UK (Paul H.) who has made acquaintance with the owner of a brewery in the UK that makes meads. It is called The Crossroads Brewery.

Anyway, my friend has gotten a hold of two bottles of their mead. Let me tell you a bit about it.

From Will!

One of the meads here is called "Banoffee".

That caught me by surprise because I never heard the word before. I looked it up and it's a British thing. It is a mixture of caramel and banana. And it's typically used as a pie filling.

(Sounds to me like a compound word mixing banana and toffee)

And I thought to myself "Wow"! What a great idea for a mead. Particularly because one of the best meads I make is called "Apple Pie". It is reminiscent of the filling inside an apple pie with cinnamon and a sweet caramel like apple.

Anyway, My friend hasn't tried that one yet. But he has tried the blueberry mead and he says it's great. Here's a quote: " It has a nice clean crisp taste with a hint of blueberry coming through it all."

Hopefully he will update me when he tries the Banoffee mead!

Update: Paul, my friend, has tried the Banofee Mead and his review is below.

About the Banofee flavor mead. Here is Paul's review:

This delicious golden liquid is very smooth, has a hint of toffee and ripe banana.  Then the 13% ABV opens up to a nice warming feeling inside. It informs those who imbibe ‘it is like drinking a banoffee pie.'
However, I find it is a really nice drop of amber nectar.
‘SKOL!'
P.S. even nicer by the second glass lol
