Is There a Mead Makers Template?

I have been wrestling with new mead recipes for a while now and am getting real excited about starting some new batches, even though I have ten in carboys right now.

Anyway the thought hit me that it would be great to have some kind of a generic mead template that could be used for lots of variations for flavored recipes.

I am thinking something like this:

• 4 gallons water
• 1 packet of yeast
• 15 pounds of Clover honey

Now here is where it gets fun: To this basic template add 5 pounds of any type of fruit like blueberries, strawberries, pumpkin, cherries, apples etc.

It would be kind of cool to have a recipe like this where you could just plug in a certain amount of fruit and be confident the mead would turn out good.
