How to Make a Stained Glass Dagger: Part 5

In this part of the tutorial we finish off the dagger by reinforcing it. This makes it strong enough to handle.

A view at the zinc came

We strengthen the stained glass dagger by wrapping something called Zinc came all the way around it. This is specifically made for stained glass.

It does come in different types and colors including copper and lead. We will use zinc.

See how the glass fits into it?

Notch the zinc came

You can notch and cut the zinc as you need.

Apply the zinc came

And wrap the came around the dagger. You can do it in one continuous run all the way around. Or cut it and do it in sections.

Solder it

And solder the ends of it together. Solder it to any of the stained glass solder too. This will make it nice and strong.

Clean it up with a mild cleanser to get rid of solder debris and flux, and to clean the glass. And that's it! Your dagger is done.
