Make a Fantasy Shadowbox Diorama
Introduction
Make this wonderful Shadowbox called "Women Warriors Prepare for Battle" and show off your fantasy miniatures.
A Shadowbox is a bit of a vague term that can cover a lot of different
types of projects. Generally it is considered to be a box about
3 or 4 inches thick and containing a scene that focuses on a particular
subject. It is usually framed and often mounted on the wall.
One of the best things about a shadowbox project is the wide range of themes that you can center it around. The only limit is your imagination. And if you have a particular hobby that you really like it is really a lot of fun to make the shadowbox in that hobby theme. I am really a big fan of castles, hobbits, elves, warriors and all that kind of fantasy stuff so I made my shadowbox in that theme.
The theme for a shadowbox can be anything you imagine. The project
we are doing here is a fantasy themed box and it is called "Women
Warriors Prepare For Battle" Here is an image of the finished
project.

The scene is inside a dungeon. The top level is
very castle like and it shows four women warriors getting ready
to descend down the ladder to battle with the creatures. The bottom
level is where the creatures are and to the far right is a treasure
chest -although its difficult to see in this picture.
This tutorial will take you through the steps of
making a nice fantasy shadowbox. It shows all the basic techniques.
These techniques are pretty much the same techniques that we use
in diorama building. The major difference is in the design and layout
of your scene.
