The Origami Flapping Bird

This is a fun origami project where you can make an origami flapping bird. It is a very traditional fold and quite unique in that the flapping of the wings is interesting and looks good. This isn't a difficult fold and all you need is a square of paper. In this tutorial I use an eight inch piece of paper.

Tidbit: I read somewhere that the smallest origami flapping bird ever made was done with a square of paper that was only 1/10th of an inch in size. Wow! That is one small bird.
