The 1934 National Park series of stamps

In 1934 Congress declared the year as "National Parks" year. And to commemorate this the US postal service put out a series of ten stamps that commemorate our National Parks. They are wonderful stamps!

They are each in a different single color and each one has a different face value from one cent through 10 cents.

Here are the ten stamps. But we will take a closer look at each stamp and I will tell you a little bit about them.Their Scott catalog numbers are #740 - #749.

About the value of these stamps.

They were printed in large numbers, depending on the denomination they printed between 15 and 90 million of them. And, being pictorials and probably very popular they were highly collected so there are lots of them still around and in mint condition so they don't have much monetary value- typically between 25 cents and a dollar.
