Apothecary Jar Terrariums by a web visitor
Here are some pictures of three gorgeous terrariums. These were made by a web visitor (Linda D.) and my thanks to her for sending me the pics. She used peppermint plants, moss, and a few other things including some very nice accents.
There are a few wonderful things about using an apothecary jar or candy jar when making a terrarium. The first of which is that they look so good. There is something about the shape of the jar that makes them very elegant and suitable for keeping on a windowsill or even on your desk.
Secondly a very nice thing about this style of jar is the ease of access when making it and when monitoring it for level of moisture inside. If you over water your terrarium it is just a matter of taking the lid off for a day or two to let it dry out a bit.
A note about adding little details to your terrarium. This is another wonderful thing about these terrariums that people often overlook. You can add miniature figures to them and it just adds a wonderful special touch. They can turn a terrarium into a little story!
If you want to make a terrarium like this I have a few different tutorials that will help:
The names of these three terrariums from left to right are:
"Babe in the Woods", "Mary's Garden" and "Egg Delivery"
